It is with great sadness that we share the news that our beautiful mother Mary Drury passed away at the Maple Park Lodge on Sunday, March 2, 2008.

A devoted mother, Mary leaves behind her three children: Mary Kathryn, James (Pat), and Mark (Bev). Her presence will be forever missed by her grandchildren Sean, Kyle and Kiera Annett, Patrick, Steven, Ainslee, Hailee, and Devin Drury.

Mary is predeceased by her husband James Arthur, her parents Guiseppe and Anna (DiMichel) Ferdinandi, her sisters Georgina Ferdinandi and Dolores (Ross) Valvo and her brother Italo “Butch” (Doris) Ferdinandi. As matriarch of the Ferdinandi Family, “Aunt Moom” adored her nieces and nephews and proudly displayed pictures of their children. She was a “special” Grandma to Jennifer and Darien Oldford.

As a lifelong resident of Fort Erie, Mary was an active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Womens League for over 50 years. She worked for many years at the former catalogue office of the T. Eaton Company. She will be remembered for her passion for golfing, gardening and The Toronto Blue Jays. Her countless hours of volunteer work include the Hospital Auxiliary (Lifetime Membership), Gilmore Lodge, Meals on Wheels, and Red Cross Blood Clinics. As a proud Canadian, she participated in many activities during political elections.

Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave 905-871-0444, entrusted with arrangements. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday March 4, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will take place at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday March 5, at 11 a.m. Vigil prayers to be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. “When Charity is deeply rooted in the soul it shows itself exteriorly…” (St. Therese, "the little flower")
